Over the next 18 years, an estimated
17 million children will be sexually abused.
That’s 100 children an hour.
Of every day.
Sexual abuse is a crime against children that cuts through all social, religious and economic boundaries. Like its perpetrators, the victims may come from privilege or poverty; they may be black, white, Hispanic or Asian; they may be healthy or disabled. Most will know their perpetrators and less than one in 10 children will tell an adult they are being sexually abused.
Today, we have the opportunity to change the future for our children and bring an end to child sexual abuse. Education is the first step in prevention and protection, and our booklet, “Pedophiles Don’t Discriminate: How to Protect Your Child from Sexual Abuse,” provides a powerful educational tool for parents – as well as for anyone who works with children. This program is offered free of charge to school districts and organizations who want to safeguard the future of our children and bring an end to the crime of child sexual abuse.
